Cerastium banaticum 'Moonshine' is a 2026 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a superb silver-foliaged perennial...a cousin to the better-known genus, Dianthus. This is exceptional because we live in a climate where most silver-foliaged perennials fear to tread. This Balkan peninsula native snow-in-summer, forms a compact, 2" tall, evergreen clumping mat of narrow silver foliage. The patch is topped, starting for us in early April, with 10" stalks of .75" wide, narrow-petalled white flowers. Our offering is seed grown from a Eleftherios Dariotis collection in Smokovo, Greece.
