Calylophus berlandieri 'Butter Cream' is our 2020 introduction of a Wade Roitsch (Yucca Do) discovery in Lee Co. Texas. In the wild, Calylophus berlandieri is found in rocky, sunny grasslands, underlain with caliche, alkaline sand, or clay. The 1' tall x 3' wide clump of wavy stems are adorned with narrow, linear green leaves and 2" wide creamy yellow flowers all summer. Calylophus 'Butter Cream' is a significant color break from the typical lemony yellow flowers usually seen on this species...we are thrilled to be able to introduce this selection commercially. Good drainage and plenty of sun are the keys to success.
