Callicarpa 'Pearl Glam' PP 28,312

Callicarpa 'Pearl Glam' is a garden designer favorite, developed by NC State plant breeder, Tom Ranney. This unusual beautyberry, a cross of Callicarpa dichotoma x kwangtungensis, is prized for its purple foliage. The 5' tall, deciduous stalks are first adorned with small white flowers, which are followed by clusters of small violet-pink berries in the fall. There are still far too few purple foliage garden shrubs. Unlike the horribly weedy, native Callicarpa americana, we've never seen any garden seedlings.
