Wow! This hot, new feather reed grass makes the same wonderful deer resistant clump that you have come to love with C. 'Karl Foerster', but now you can treat yourself to a wide white band down the center of each leaf blade. This reverse pattern of C. 'Overdam' was found as a mutation on C. 'Karl Foerster' by Steve Schmidt of American Ornamental Perennials. Calamagrostis 'Avalanche' makes a 4' tall vertical accent in the garden, topped with silvery tan plumes starting in midsummer.
