Bergenia 'Ripple Effect' is a superb new deciduous pigsqueak hybrid, selected by Issima Nursery's Ed Bowen, who crossed Bergenia ciliata and Bergenia pacumbis. Each steroidal-sized 2' tall x 3' wide clump is adorned with rich green, heavily ruffled leaves 13" wide leaves with eyelash like borders. In early spring, as the foliage emerges, clusters of white to blush-pink flowers on short, branched panicles also emerge. A spot with open shade or early morning sun is perfect.
