Astilbe 'Mighty Red Quin' is a wonderfully large, 4' tall Astilbe chinensis hybrid from Holland's Hans van der Meer. The foliage emerges bronze and ages to dark green, topped in very late spring/early summer with 4' tall bushy spikes of cherry red flowers. Moist soils give the best results for astilbes. Astilbe 'Mighty Red Quin' was the bronze medal winner at the 2013 Plantarium Expo.
