Asplenium scolopendrium 'Hokkaido High' is a Tom Mitchell selection of the rarely cultivated Japanese form of Asplenium scolopendrium var. nipponicum, a spore collection in central Hokkaido, Japan, at 800' elevation. The glossy, green, tongue-shaped leaves reach 1' tall when happy, forming a bird's nest-style evergreen rosette. Cool moist sites with neutral to alkaline soils produce the best results.
