(aka: Asarum nipponicum PDN001) We rarely have enough Asarum nipponicum 'Milky Way' to share, so we are very pleased to finally list it again. This 2001 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction forms 6" tall x 1' wide clumps that are composed of heart-shaped, dark green leaves, each highlighted by contrasting subtle, silver veins. Asarum nipponicum 'Milky Way' is one of the hardiest evergreen wild gingers, thriving in woodland conditions from Zones 5-8. If you peak under its skirt of leaves, starting in mid-February (NC), you'll catch a glimpse of the unusual, small triangular purple-brown flowers with a central cream eyezone. It could be a while before we have enough to share again, so don't miss out.
