(aka: Allium kurilense) Allium splendens var. kurilense is a lovely dwarf, rock garden-sized ornamental allium that hails from the Kuril Islands off the Japanese coast. Allium splendens var. kurilense forms a 6" tall x 6" wide, easy-to-grow clump of needle-thin, soft green foliage, adorned, starting for us in late October, with clusters of tiny, lavender, star-like flowers nestled at the tips of the foliage.
