This rarely offered, rock-garden sized Sonoran desert native forms small, 1' tall rosettes of 16" long x 1/2" wide nearly cylindrical green leaves often highlighted with a white central marking. Each leaf ends with a sharp (I bet I didn't have to tell you) terminal spine. The rosettes offset quickly, forming a tight colony. When mature, each rosette will produce an 8' tall flowering spike! Agave schottii is particularly sensitive to winter moisture when the temperatures drop below 20 degrees F so good drainage is essential. This seed-grown collection comes from the 5,000' elevation Cochise Stronghold region, east of Tucson, Arizona.
