Agave x romanii started its life thanks to Belgian agave collector Jos de Vleeshouder, who created this hybrid of Agave filifera and Agave mitis var. albidior. Agave x romanii 'Shadow Dancer' is a dwarf variegated sport from the aforementioned cross. For us, Agave 'Shadow Dancer' makes a 1' tall x 2' wide clump of deeply-channeled, parchment-colored leaves, bordered by pale green edges and aging to entirely parchment...truly unique. Agave 'Shadow Dancer' is slow to offset, and performs wonderfully in a container.
