Agave lophantha var. caerulescens is a superb form of Agave lophantha, composed of glaucous blue-green, narrow, upright foliage, often with a central stripe of muted yellow and tiny black-edged teeth. Eventually, the 20" tall suckering rosettes of Agave lophantha var. caerulescens form a 10' wide, dense patch. Mature rosettes are topped with a 15' tall, narrow flower spike, laden with several hundred yellow flowers that open over a period of many weeks, starting usually in May/June. Our seed-grown plants are from the superb form at the Huntington Botanical Gardens.
