(formerly sold as A. funkiana) Agave 'Hakuro Shiro Fukurin' is a virtually unobtainable century plant, we originally purchased from Thailand in 2006 as an Agave lophantha, which it's obviously not. In fact, it turned out to be a variegated selection of the Central Mexican (Sonora, Sinoloa) coastal dune dwelling Agave albomarginata. The 18" long x 1" wide, upright, shallowly grooved leaves are dark green and edged with a dramatic wide white border. The few scattered teeth along the leaf edges turn papery and fall away as the leaves age. Agave 'Hakuro Shiro Fukurin' (translated as "frosty white margin") makes a stunning 18" tall x 3' wide tightly-offsetting clump...fairly slow growing.
