Acanthus hungaricus 'White Lips' is a selected form of the popular Balkan native perennial. The soft, dark green leaves form an attractive rosette topped in late spring with 2' tall spiny flower spikes composed of dozens of individual flowers, each with purple hoods and white lips...much preferred over the reverse. In the wild, Acanthus hungaricus grows in dry, rocky clearings but, in the garden, a rich, well-drained soil produces amazing results.
