Cypripedium 'Bernd Pastel' is a 2007 Jan Moors hybrid between the Asian Cypripedium macranthos and the rare Taiwanese Cypripedium segawai...the same cross as the 2001 introduced Cypripedium 'Bernd'. The 1' tall clumps of Cypripedium 'Bernd Pastel' are topped with large ivory pouches, backed by creamy ivory tepals. It remains to be seen how much summer heat these will tolerate, so we'd love your feedback if you give it a try. Either slightly acidic or slightly alkaline soils are fine, as long as you provide decent moisture.
