When we visited Holland's Arboretum Trompenberg in 2004, we were struck by a massive patch of Southeast US native Yucca flaccida with unusually glaucous blue-green foliage. The gardens were kind enough to share a piece of root, and now we can share our propagules with you. Yucca 'Trompenberg Blue' forms a patch of 30" tall x 4' wide rosettes. The rosettes multiply via an underground rhizome to eventually form a 10' wide patch. Each rosette is topped in late spring with a 4' tall stalk of white bell-shaped flowers.
