(aka: Yucca toftiae) Yucca angustissima ssp. toftiae is an North American native endemic soapwort, found growing on sandstone outcrops at 6000' elevation in Southern Utah, originally named for a specimen under what is now Lake Powell. Yucca angustissima ssp. toftiae, named after This species was named after the late UC DAvis Evolution/Ecology professor, Catherine Ann Toft. Yucca angustissima ssp. toftiae forms a 3' tall, trunked specimen with a head composed of very thin dusty green, white-edged leaves, and adorned with a full head of curly white hair. Mature plants are topped with 10-11' tall spikes, laden with large white bell-shaped flowers. Compared with other forms of Yucca angustissima, ssp. toftiae has both longer leaves and a much taller flower spike. This is a very limited offering.
