Viola 'Blue Bibb' is an amazing 2024 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of our selection of our Southeast native Viola pedata from our 2011 collection in Bibb County, Alabama. Viola 'Blue Bibb' has amazing vigor and huge flowers in addition to being the longest flowering Viola pedata selection we've ever seen. For us, the cutleaf evergreen rosette begins in early December, and continues virtually non-stop through spring. Okay, so it does slow down during extremely low winter temperatures, but resumes quickly when weather moderates. Viola pedata prefers a rocky, well-drained soil and part sun for best performance. Viola 'Blue Bibb' will eventually form a dense 10" wide clump.
