    This 2005 introduction from Jan Verschoor of Holland comes from a cross of V. longifolia x V. spicata, made in 1998. V. 'Purpleicious' makes a dwarf 1' wide compact clump of dark green leaves that are topped from June-August with up to two dozen sturdy 20" spikes of rich, dark purple (RHS 81A)...great for the front of the border.
