Tricyrtis 'Manten no Hoshi' (translated "sky full of stars") is a stunning Japanese toad lily hybrid involving Tricyrtis formosana. In late September, the terminal flower clusters are held atop 2' tall black stalks. Each flower has a white background, but is so densely spotted with large purple blotches that the overall appearance is purple. We really like Tricyrtis 'Manten no Hoshi' and think you will also.
