(syn: Callisia rosea, Cuthbertia rosea) This wonderful native woodlander from the sandhills region from Maryland through Florida is probably my favorite member of the spiderwort family. T. rosea is a miniature version of the common spiderwort with very narrow green leaves and tiny 1/4" purple violet (RHS 81C) flowers during late spring and into summer. This is a dynamite rock garden plant that is just waiting to be discovered... damn, it's cute! A mature clump can reach 10" wide x 8" tall.
