(aka: Metathelypteris glandulifera) Thelypteris bombadilii is another horticulturally unknown Southeast Chinese native fern that we're thrilled to introduce to the horticultural world. Thelypteris bombadilii has made a superb deciduous groundcover for us, spreading to 5' wide in 10 years. The 22" tall, mostly upright fronds form an absolutely lovely patch. As with most spreading ferns, Thelypteris bombadilii can overrun small neighbors like asarum and epimedium, but would be great among shrubs and larger woodland perennials.
