I remember falling in love the first time I saw this comfrey at Bill Frederick's wonderful Delaware garden. Each clump of this natural hybrid (S. asperum x S. officinale) makes a large, 3' wide, deciduous rosette with 18" long, fuzzy green leaves. Each leaf is surrounded by a 1" wide, creamy yellow border. In late spring, the plant expands upward to 2' tall (4' in cooler climates), topped with pendant, light blue, bell-shaped flowers...a Kodak moment. We have found this comfrey easy to grow in moist, rich soils, but still slow to propagate.
