Sinningia 'Lovely' is a new hardy gesneriad, named by our friends at Yucca Do Nursery. This cross of Sinningia sellovii x Sinningia tubiflora was selected from seedlings of a Jon Lindstrom cross. Sinningia 'Lovely' makes a mound of foliage, topped from summer into fall with 18" tall spikes, adorned with fleshy-pink tubular flowers...favored by hummingbirds and gardeners alike. For us, Sinningia 'Lovely' expands slowly, but nothing like the stoloniferous nature of Sinningia tubiflora. Well-drained soils in winter are key for good success.
