Although it's more of a upright sub-shrub, we treat this easy-to-grow evergreen senecio like a perennial. The upright stems to 4' tall are clothed with 4", shallow-lobed, oak-like leaves. In January, the clumps are topped with attractive, 8" panicles of golden yellow daisies. Although the flowers are quite frost tolerant, severe early temperature plunges may damage the flowers and new growth. From Zone 8 south, flowering should be completely reliable. Senecio aschenborianus was introduced from Northern Mexico, thanks to a 1992 Yucca Do expedition.
