We originally received this neat little sedum from our friend Crazy Eddie of Ohio. Sedum mexicanum is composed of narrow, soft, fleshy, light green "needles" on prostrate stems. In early summer, S. mexicanum is covered with large clusters of bright-yellow flowers. While dry sun is not a favorite for S. mexicanum, this slow-spreading gem does make a fabulous groundcover in the lightly shaded to part sun rock garden. This is a great alternative to the weedy aggressive S. sarmentosum.
