This is another of the great but overlooked Mexican sedums, shared with us by the late Logan Calhoun. Growing naturally on limestone rocky slopes, S. diffusum has adapted well to typical garden conditions. For us, S. diffusum gives a unique peachy-colored foliage effect, mimicking the appearance of tightly-woven strings of jelly beans lying on the ground. In May, the mat is topped with small, white, star-shaped flowers. S. diffusum spreads slowly; don't expect a thug like S. sexangulare.
