    Here is a great addition to the line of durable strawberry begonias. Saxifraga stolonifera 'Maroon Beauty' makes a splendid mat-like groundcover for the shady garden. The round leaves with pronounced silver veins are overlain with fuzzy red hair (like those punk rockers have). Like a man who forgot to shave, the hair runs up the bloom stalk to give the flowers a reddish cast... really nice! Saxifraga 'Maroon Beauty' spreads with long arching red runners that form new plants where they touch down.
