Sarracenia x ahlesii is a naturally occurring hybrid of Sarracenia alata x Sarracenia rubra, named after Manual of the Vascular Flora of the Carolinas co-author, the late Harry Ahles. Sarracenia x ahlesii is found where both parent species co-occur in Southern Alabama and Mississippi. The clumps of green pitchers are veined red toward the top. Before the new pitchers emerge in spring, the floral show is delightful with floral saucers composed of rosy red sepals and petals.
