This new salvia is one of the many wonderful species from Argentina. This collection comes from a moist streamside in the province of Tucuman at 9,300' elevation. For us, the 3' tall stalks, clothed in round, fuzzy, green leaves are topped in late summer and fall with short terminal spikes of cobalt-blue flowers...how come Argentina has so many blue flowers?
