Pyrrosia hastata 'Storm Watch' is our 2023 introduction of a formerly un-named selection of the Asian (China, Korea, Japan) native, which in situ grows as an epiphyte (a very clingy plant). In the garden, the evergreen Pyrrosia hastata forms a 1' tall x 2' wide, tight clump with great age. The three-pronged felty leaves are typically solid green, but this selection we obtained from a Japanese plant collector has dramatic black leaf veins. We have had excellent luck with these in the ground when planted on a dry slope. In containers, they also form exceptional specimens.
