This European native is one of the most exploited commercial ferns, with over 300 named cultivars...sounds like it's on the way to challenging hostas. The species makes an attractive 1' tall x 2' wide semi-evergreen clump of lacy fronds for us, but should double that size in a cooler summer climate.
