    (aka: Fallopia japonica 'Variegata') This spectacular Mexican bamboo has heart-shaped leaves that are frosted with white freckles. Although this polygonum is called a very slow spreader, ours has remained in a semi-clump (sandy soil). We have also found this selection to be virtually sterile in terms of seed production. The 6' wide clump is topped with feathery white plumes in September and November...a great fall addition!
