Polygonella americana has been a favorite in our crevice garden, where it has thrived for years. This dryland native can be found from NC west to New Mexico, usually in dry woodlands on sandy, rocky soils. Our offering is an excellent form that we're pleased to introduce from an Adam Black collection in Waller County, Texas. The 18" tall x 18" wide plants look like a disheveled conifer until they burst into flower from June through October with a stunning show of white bracts. We have found this quite easy in gravelly, poor soils in full to half day sun. With a common name of jointweed, how can you pass a chance to be like Snoop and smoke this over.
