(aka: Salvia yangii) In our trials, Perovskia 'Blue Jean Baby' from Walters Gardens has been the best of the new dwarf Russian sage selections. For us, it forms a compact, bushy, 34" tall x 3' wide plant clothed in dissected, fragrant, silver foliage topped, starting for us in early June, with terminal sprays of mauvy-lavender flowers held in attractive purple calyces which still show color after the flowering ends in late summer/early fall. Perovskia 'Blue Jean Baby' provides a lovely Monet-like textural effect in the dry, sunny garden.
