    This stunning European hybrid of the Mexican penstemon makes a 3' wide mound of narrow linear foliage. In late spring, the clumps are topped with spikes of large, tubular, scarlet red flowers with a distinctive white throat with red streaks. In a well drained site in the border, you can expect flowers until early summer.
