Doug Ruhren shared the seed for this perennial poppy which has been one of the nice surprises in the dry part of our garden. The hairy light green foliage forms 10" wide rosettes. In early summer, the clumps are topped with 2" round saucer shaped flowers of medium orange...an all too infrequent color in the garden. As with most poppies, P. pilosum prefers a very dry and well drained site.
