Paeonia tenuifolia, which hails from the Caucasus Mountains, is one of the most coveted of the paeonia species, due to its incredibly narrow, fennel-textured foliage. It's also one of the earliest species to flower with small, single, bright red flowers. For us, it goes dormant by mid-summer.
