We're not particularly fond of the huge daffodils with foliage that looks hideous as soon as the flowers have faded. What I find enchanting is the miniature species daffodils that flower early and have attractive foliage. N. bulbicodium var. conspicuous is one of my favorites. The soft narrow allium-like foliage is topped in early to mid-March with petticoat-hoop like yellow flowers. The tiny bulbs multiplies like crazy, so you'll quickly have enough to plant everywhere. These are shipped in pots, with each pot containing at least one dozen bulbs.
