This hot miscanthus selection was discovered at Bluemel Nursery in Maryland. In height, it tops out for us at 3' and doesn't have the middle-age spread problem of M. sinensis 'Variegatus'. With foliage that is slightly narrower and with strong, creamy white-and-green vertical variegation, M. 'Rigoletto' makes a perfect specimen. Landscapers who have tried this are singing its praises.
