(aka: Miscanthus 'Vanilla Milkshake')Miscanthus sinensis 'Dixieland' comes from the late grass guru, Kurt Bluemel.Miscanthus 'Dixieland' was found as a seedling found Bluemel's Nursery, with the vertical white variegation of Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus', but shorter and later flowering. For us, Miscanthus 'Dixieland' forms a 3' tall clump of creamy white striped leaves, topped, starting in late September with plumes that rise to 6'....3' above the foliage. The plumes emerge a delicious lavender pink, before aging to tan. Although Miscanthus are quite drought tolerant, they respond amazingly well to rich, moist soils.
