(aka: Dennstaedtia strigosa) The more we grow the Japanese Microlepia strigosa, the more we like it. Microlepia strigosa 'Shishi' is a compact form with congested green pinnae...something you'd only expect to order from a fancy Italian restaurant. Each 18" tall x 2' wide clump makes an attractive, lacy specimen. Above 10 degrees F, the foliage stays evergreen but below that, it is tardily deciduous.
