(aka: Dennstaedtia strigosa) Imagine a non-rampant, hay-scented fern and you've got Microlepia strigosa. This Japanese native (Kyushu, Shikoku, and also surrounding islands) makes a wide-spreading clump of 3' long arching leaves. Above 10 degrees F, the foliage stays evergreen but below that, it is tardily deciduous.
