From Mexico, comes another of the really cool deciduous agaves for the well-drained rock garden. Manfreda maculosa forms small rosettes to 1' wide with narrow canoe-shaped glaucous blue-green leaves, heavily marked with red purple spots...resembling an octopus with an overabundance of freckles. In midsummer, these small rosettes are topped with 2' tall spikes which end in 2" creamy pink spidery flowers.
