Lilium 'Springville' is an amazing natural hybrid of two North American native lilies, Lilium canadense and Lilium michiganense. Lilium 'Springville' was discovered in Jefferson County, Alabama, by Richard Scott and Russell Blue of Alabama Nursery Company. The 4' tall stalks are topped, starting in mid-June (NC), with pendent scarlet red flowers, each spotted brown toward the throat. Lilium 'Springville' is both a spectacular and vigorous grower, forming a large patch when grown in moist, compost rich soils....truly a superb new introduction!
