We are so excited to offer Lilium x pseudograyi, a rare, naturally-occuring hybrid of two exceptional NC native lilies, Lilium canadense and the rare Lilium grayi. These hybrids are occasionally encountered below 3,000' elevation in the southern Appalachian mountains, where they occur in moist open woodlands and seasonally flooded sites. In late spring, the 4.5' stalks are topped with solitary down-turned red flowers, heavily spotted inside and widely flared at the bottom. Our bulbs are seed grown from an Edmund Taylor cross of Lilium canadense var. editorum from SW Virginia x a Roan Mountain form of Lilium grayi. These are all flowering size and in extremely limited supply, so don't dare delay.
