(syn: L. tigrinum) This old pass-along plant is still one of the best and easiest plants that we grow in our garden. Emerging in spring, the stalks climb to 80". In late August and early September, the sturdy stalks are topped with downward-facing orange-red flowers. Each stalk bears small black bulbils in the leaf axils that can be used to reproduce the plant.
