    From our 1997 expedition to Korea comes this rarely cultivated ligularia, which has been a pleasant surprise in our garden. We kill most typical ligularias (except the farfugium group), so we are always amazed when one not only lives, but thrives. Such is the case with our collection of Ligularia fischeri from 2250' elevation on Korea's Cheju Island. The 2' tall x 3' wide clumps are composed of rounded medium green foliage than reaches 1' across. We expect this would get taller in climates with less drastic summer weather. The tidy clumps are topped in late summer with 4' tall narrow spikes of yellow daisies. A good evenly moist location in the garden is recommended.
