(aka: Lavandula LABZ0004) We've trialed quite a few supposedly improved selections of the Spanish Lavander, Lavandula stoechas, but most die, even during mild winters. We are thrilled beyond words to discover a dramatically improved Syngenta-bred selection, Lavandula 'Javelin Forte Deep Purple' that sailed through 11 degrees F. in 2023. This 2' tall x 3' wide evergreen clump of fragrant silver foliage, is topped, starting for us in late April with a superb show of dark purple flowers. As with all lavenders, great drainage is a key to success.
