Lantana 'Samson' was discovered as a branch sport on an unnamed yellow and red flowered L. camara by James Covington of Mississippi. L. 'Samson' is extremely floriferous and has shown good winter hardiness in Mississippi trials. The flowers in the terminal clusters open golden yellow (RHS 14A) and gradually change to bright orange (RHS 34A). The clumps flower from mid-June until frost.
